Company - History and Vision

NEXGEN History

NEXGEN Travel Distribution was founded in February 2004 by President and CEO Lawrence Hutson. Mr. Hutson saw major shortcomings in the travel platforms being offered by the travel industry. Legacy platforms currently used today were built to connect professional travel agents with the supplier’s inventory. Online travel sites for consumers use these platforms and are limited in functionality and content due to the fact that the platforms were built for travel agents. Today, a travel agent accesses many different platforms and manual contacts in order to fulfill a travel request. NEXGEN Travel Distribution was founded on the premise of building the world’s first fully integrated travel platform designed for the consumer to connect directly with travel product suppliers.

There are two parts to the NEXGEN travel platform, the private labeled Internet booking engine for the consumers and the Easy Access Travel System (EATS) for suppliers. NEXGEN Travel Distribution released the Beta version of its private label booking engine in February 2007 and the Beta Version of the Easy Access Travel System in March 2007. NEXGEN plans to make full release of both products on the German market in summer 2007. NEXGEN will continue its global expansion with launch in the United States market in quarter 4 of 2007, with ongoing expansion into additional European and Asian markets soon to follow.

The NEXGEN Vision

NEXGEN’s vision is based on four pillars:

  1. Integration of travel products and travel content that are currently available through thousands of different platforms today

  2. Bringing the greatest percentage of the worlds travel products and content that are not available in any platform today into its platform and fully integrating them with NEXGEN’s existing products and content

  3. Enabling the consumer to access and perform greater functionality than trained professional travel agents are able to accomplish by accessing many different platforms and manual contracts and providing the consumer real time financial transactions in order to purchase the products regardless of the local currency

  4. Reducing cost for suppliers by providing its services free of charge and enhancing a suppliers offering and increasing their revenues by enabling them to combine their products with complimentary products from other suppliers both small and large
These pillars produce a synergy for travel product suppliers and increase demand for their own products while providing the consumer with a more exciting and economical way to purchase travel thereby increasing the overall demand for travel.
