NEXGEN Corporate Profile
NEXGEN Travel Distribution is a travel technology enabling company with offices in North America, Germany, and the Netherlands.
Founded in February 2004 by former Travelocity Software Architect Lawrence Hutson, NEXGEN is addressing shortcomings in legacy platforms of the travel industry: these platforms were built to connect professional travel agents with the supplier’s inventory.
Hence, today’s online travel sites for consumers are limited in functionality and content.
NEXGEN Travel Distribution is building the world’s first fully integrated travel platform, designed for the consumer, connecting them directly with the supplier of travel products, while the suppliers can use the platform free of charge.
The core elements of the NEXGEN system are:
NEXGEN Front Office (IBE):
NEXGEN’s Internet Booking Engine is the next generation in online travel booking, offering dynamic packaging capabilities for air, accommodation, car, packages, tours, vacations, event tickets, etc.
The IBE is offered free of charge to a wide network of affiliates around the globe.
NEXGEN Back Office (EATS):
NEXGEN’s Easy Access Travel System lets suppliers and affiliates manage settings and sub-accounts, gives access to reporting and the product entry & maintenance system and offers tools to manage the functionality, behavior and look & feel of the IBE. The use of the back office system is free of charge to its users.
NEXGEN Product Entry & Maintenance (EATS):
This web-based travel inventory system lets suppliers manage allocations, prices, and content while providing instant access to global distribution for any travel product. The use of this system is also free of charge.
NEXGEN has completed the development of the travel platform and is currently rolling out operations in Europe with focus on Germany and the UK. Operations are currently handled from the German office in Munich.
